Clamantis: The MALS Journal now accepting submissions!

It’s time to start thinking about submitting your best work for consideration in the fall/winter issue of Clamantis: The MALS Journal

Submissions are due by Monday, October 10. We are looking for anything current students have produced during their time in MALS, or from alumni since graduating from the program (unless you are a budding photographer or artist—then please do share your artwork outside the program!)

  • Creative writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, oral history)
  • Critical essays (interdisciplinary)
  • Photography
  • Illustrations

Guidelines:

  • Submit your documents in Word. No PDFs please.
  • Although there is no word-count limit, authors whose work is accepted may be asked to edit for length.
  • Photography: All photographs should be high-resolution (300 dpi) saved as a JPEG. Please include a title/caption.
  • We prefer endnotes. You may submit work for consideration with footnotes, but if accepted, we ask you make the change.
  • Work submitted must be completed during your time in MALS or since graduation.
  • All selected authors should provide a short bio within a week of acceptance in a separate Word document.
  • If you publish in Clamantis, you are allowed to publish your work elsewhere. Publication in Clamantis should not hinder your ability to publish the piece elsewhere.

Please submit to: The.MALS.Journal@dartmouth.edu. Pieces will be reviewed and selected by an editorial board comprised of current MALS students with input from faculty liaison Anna Minardi. For a copy of the latest issue of Clamantis, please visit the MALS Office.
