Oxford Summer School Application: February 1st, 2023

This is a reminder that the deadline to apply to the Oxford Summer Schools is quickly approaching!

The Summer School options for MALS students include:

  • English Literature

  • History, Politics and Society

  • Creative Writing 

Please have all materials submitted *****to the MALS Office***** by 3pm on February 1st, 2023. Required materials include:
 

  • The application form with your seminar choices, available in the following link: https://mals.dartmouth.edu/sites/mals.prod/files/mals/wysiwyg/oxford_app._guidelines_2023.pdf

  • A cover letter addressed to the MALS Curriculum Committee explaining how the Oxford Program fits into your MALS plan-of-study.

  • A brief statement of purpose (400 words) detailing your academic reasons for wishing to attend the summer school. This should include what you hope to get out of the program, and what you are likely to contribute to the intellectual life of the summer school. You should also include details of courses you have previously taken, and/or the relevance of your summer school choice(s) to your present plan-of-study or professional development. It is essential that you clearly state your reasons for wishing to enroll in specific seminars

  • Creative Writing applicants: Writing sample (see application for details)

  • A letter of support from one of your MALS professors, or your I.S. or Thesis adviser

  • Four passport-sized photographs (can be purchased at the local CVS)
