Nicolas Cage plays a mild-mannered professor who inexplicably wanders into others' dreams in this wonderfully weird dark comedy.

Over the span of his 120-plus film career, Nicolas Cage has been a lot of things—but he may have never been as flat-out hilarious as he is here. Hapless family man Paul Matthews (Cage) finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom. A kissing cousin to Spike Jonze's Being John Malkovich and Richard Linklater's Waking Life, Kristoffer Borgli's wickedly entertaining comedy is at once strangely light-hearted and heavy with menace. The end result is an ambitious, often provocative interrogation of masculinity, cancel culture, social media and the power of celebrity, filtered through a humorous lens.
