An uproarious, raunchy comedy about a couple of outcast, queer high-school girls who start a fight club to get dates.

Emma Seligman (Shiva Baby) and star Rachel Sennott are back with an indescribably funny, horny and weird new charmer. PJ ( Sennott) and Josie (Ayo Edebiri) strike out with all the girls at their high school, while a-hole football players strut around like cocks of the walk. To uplevel their status and get closer to the objects of their desire, PJ and Josie start a girls' fight club. The supporting cast really shines and football-great Marshawn Lynch makes a cameo as the club's faculty advisor. At the bottom of the film's knotted plot and raunchy jokes, however, lies a rather poignant story about female friendship and empowerment. Bottoms is an ambitious sophomore feature from a director who is just getting started, one that can craft both a hilariously surreal teen sex comedy and marry it with one hell of an eye for action sequences.
