Dartmouth College Financial Aid Office helps graduate students with federal loan needs. The MALS program also offers partial-tuition scholarships to be applied to the required nine courses, referred to as MALS Scholarships.
For the each academic year, financial aid, including partial tuition scholarships, and budget estimate information, will be made available to applicants as soon as it is updated and distributed from the Dartmouth Finance Office.
U.S. citizens and permanent residents may apply for federal student loan programs, in addition to a MALS scholarship. Read more about applying for federal aid on the Dartmouth Financial Aid Office website.
For the 2024 - 2025 Academic year:
International students may apply for MALS at Dartmouth scholarships, but are not eligible for U.S. Federal Loans. They can apply for private loans, to explore private loan options please visit the Private Educational Loans page on the Financial Aid Office website and select the "Connect to Lender List" at the bottom of the page. Here you will find a comprehensive, three-year list of lenders used by past and current graduate students. MALS scholarships are applied as partial tuition for the nine required courses only.
Tuition rates per term:
1 term = 10 weeks. There are four terms in an Academic Year at Dartmouth College (see Dartmouth's Academic Calendar)

*this figure is for the 2023-2024 academic year, the rate for 2024-2025 has not yet been released, but it will likely increase.
