At the center of this surrealist puzzle box of a film is a complicated, messy relationship between a young actress and a beautiful stranger who one day shows up at her apartment with no memory of who she is or how she got there. The two share an instant connection—and why they feel this way is the thread they must pull on to unravel the mystery. Considered by many to be his masterpiece, David Lynch's Mulholland Dr is a scary, seductive, often funny, vision of Los Angeles that presents Hollywood's dream factory as an intoxicating fantasy full of intrigue, sex and terror.
