The event will begin with a viewing of Ken Burns' newest documentary, Defying the Nazis: The Sharps' War, over dinner. The film tells the story of a Unitarian minister, Waitstill Sharp, and his wife, Martha, who in 1939 left their two children and the safety and comfort of their New England home to go to Eastern Europe and help Jewish refugees. After the screening/dinner, students will discuss how the Sharps' story relates to current issues they face as global leaders.
