Egon Zakrajšek is a Senior Adviser in the Division of Monetary Affairs, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, DC.  As a member of the division’s senior management team, his responsibilities include providing policy advice and guiding staff in their analysis of issues pertaining to the interaction between financial market conditions and economic activity, the transmission of monetary policy through financial markets and institutions, and interactions between monetary policy and financial stability. His recent research focuses on the predictive content of asset prices for economic outcomes and the influence of financial factors on macroeconomic dynamics. Mr. Zakrajšek received a B.A. in economics from University of California Santa Cruz and a Ph.D. in economics from New York University.  Before coming to the Federal Reserve Board, he was an economist at the research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; he also has taught economics at Columbia University in New York and Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC.
